![]() On top of that every character level carries perks and bonuses to growth - and if you go wrong you can quickly respec and adjust your characters to change your approach - but you'll need to know how both work. POE2 has an optional level scaling setting that'll significantly change how the game plays. Or infamous captain for RP reasons. There's more to leveling than just that in Pillars of Eternity II, however. They dont make a huge difference, and saves you grinding all over again if ya feeling lazy / have better things to do. So Id take any shortcuts that mean you dont have to grind so much on your second playthrough. Not a game changer, but certainly noticeable. They are shortcuts or cheats to allow for your own idea of fun. Just to say, I'm not dissing the blessings at all, they allow for some fun ideas without having to cheat with the console, or without having to full on nerd-out on consumables/builds/etc (if thats not something you enjoy). Y'know, just for fun or to try out something very specific or to save yourself from repeating arduous tasks. To me, the blessings seem more like the equivalent of using cheats on assassins creed or GTA once you've beat the game. I dont think Potd is something you are meant to attempt after you've unlocked the blessings for it. I find it a little annoying potd builds commonly found online have the blessings integrated. But you can duplicate this if you want to use other blessings. Its hard to pass up just a little more resolve/accuracy or stats for dialogue/skill checks etc. The plus 2 to all stats really helps even out your builds. Theres no difference there unless you are worried you might "over cheat" with the console. I might get downvoted just for saying this: But ultimately they seem like cheats to me. They can be fun, especially the time saving ones. Since money is lacking only in the early game, this is nothing more than skipping some grinding to set everything right. I usually grab the cash blessings, to buy right away all the unique equipment I will be using for my build. Other than here, you can get only one in the third DLC.Ĭraftsman is useful if you want to cheese Abydon challenge or save yourself some time grinding. That adra stone can upgrade your weapon beyond legendary, and that makes it quite useful in the late game. The infamous captain one can be interesting, since it terrifies low-level opponents on the start of the combat, and adds 3 intimidate.Įder pet slot seems like a minor bonus for fun. Starting with captain xp/special sails/sailors is also meh since naval combat is not that important factor in the game. +3 extra levels also feel redundant, unless you are really struggling on some early POTD battles and need some ability unlocked asap. ![]() The map is useless since you already know where everything is in the second playthrough.
